CAIRO, Feb 25 (Reuters) - A preacher in Egypt's Tahrir Square, the nerve centre for a revolution that deposed Hosni Mubarak and shook the Middle East and told anti-Gaddafi supporters in Libya to persevere until victory.

Leading Friday prayers in the square, where millions gathered during an 18-day uprising to demand an end to poverty, corruption and repression, Imam Mazhar Shaheen expressed solidarity with protests threatening Muammar Gaddafi's rule.

"We say to our brothers in Libya who are protesting: persevere, we are with you until victory," the preacher told thousands of Egyptians gathered to mark two weeks since the revolution unseated Mubarak.

"We tell the Libyan leader to leave. The bloodshed of Benghazi is on your hands. Stop the bloodshed of the sons of Libya. Libyan people die as martyrs in the name of freedom," Shaheen told the worshippers. (Reporting by Marwa Awad; Writing by Peter Millership; Editing by Caroline Drees and Jon Hemming)
