WASHINGTON, Nov 24 (Reuters) - The United States believes North Korea's artillery attack on a South Korean island this week was an isolated action and not part of a wider campaign by Pyongyang, the State Department said on Wednesday.
State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley also said the United States expects China to use its influence to get North Korea to cease its provocative behavior, saying Beijing could play a "pivotal" role in helping to calm the situation. (Reporting by Arshad Mohammed; Editing by John O'Callaghan)
