Sept 22 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 1700 GMT on Wednesday.

* JURF AL-SAKHAR - Gunmen opened fire at a security checkpoint manned by the government-backed Sahwa militia, wounding one Sahwa member, in Jurf al-Sakhar, about 60 km (40 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.

* MOSUL - Gunmen shot dead a civilian in southern Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

* MOSUL - A child was wounded when a roadside bomb exploded in front of the house of a traffic police officer in northern Mosul, police said.

* MOSUL - A roadside bomb wounded a passer-by in northern Mosul, police said.

* BAGHDAD - Two civilians were wounded by a mortar shell in the central Baghdad district of Karrada, police said.

BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb went off near a police patrol, wounding three policemen, on Palestine Street in northeastern Baghdad, an interior ministry source said.

MADHATIYAH - A police official said three people were killed and 50 wounded on Tuesday by the explosion of ammunition in a home in the town of Madhatiyah outside Hilla, 100 km (62 miles) south of Baghdad. A police source had said on Tuesday that a gas canister exploded.
