MOGADISHU, Sept 9 (Reuters) - At least eight people have been killed, including African Union (AU) peacekeeping troops, after bomb blasts at Mogadishu's airport in the Somali capital, local residents said on Thursday.

Others were wounded after at least one suicide bomber blew up a vehicle outside the airport, and another explosion was heard inside the airport compound.

"I have seen four bleeding AU soldiers being carried at the gate," shopkeeper Mohamed Abdi told Reuters. "At least eight dead bodies, most of them AMISOM soldiers were lying on the ground," he added.
