Office of the Ombudsman recruiting at least 79 lawyers, says report

The Office of the Ombudsman in Philippines is recruiting at least 79 lawyers in an effort to help rid the government of corrupt officials, the Philippine Star reported.

This includes 48 Graft Investigation and Prosecution Officer 1 positions, the lowest ranking lawyer position at the agency.

“Applicants should have at least three years of experience in the practice of law, counseling, investigation and prosecution of cases, hearing on administrative and criminal cases, legal research or other related jobs,” the Star said.

Newly appointed Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales had said previously that the agency plans to hire a hundred additional lawyers.
