USGS reports 5.2 magnitude quake off west Indonesia coast

SINGAPORE, Aug 3 (Reuters) - A magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck off the Indonesian coast of western Sumatra on Wednesday, the United States Geological Survey said, but no tsunami warning was issued.

The USGS said the quake was recorded at 1435 GMT 98 miles (157 km) west of Bengkulu at a shallow depth of 5.8 miles.
