KABUL, May 16 (Reuters) - A homemade bomb killed four troops from the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in southern Afghanistan on Monday, ISAF said in a statement that gave no further details.

Violence in Afghanistan has reached the highest levels since the 2001 overthrow of the Taliban, even as foreign forces prepare for the start this summer of a gradual handover of security responsibilities to the Afghan army and police.
