LISBON, Nov 20 (Reuters) - The United States has not taken a decision yet on whether it will end its combat mission in Afghanistan by the end of 2014, a senior Obama administration official said during a NATO summit on Saturday.
"The administration has not taken that decision yet," the official said when asked if it endorsed NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen's view that he expected the foreign combat mission in Afghanistan to finish by the end of 2014.
The official said halting the U.S. combat mission was a decision for President Barack Obama as commander-in-chief, and he would wait to review progress in the Afghan war.
