CARACAS, Sept 30 (Reuters) - Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez said on Thursday the life of his leftist Ecuadorean ally Rafael Correa was in danger and urged Ecuador's military not to support a "coup" attempt against him.

Chavez told Venezuelan state TV that protesting Ecuadorean police officials were making demands of Correa at a hospital in Quito where the Ecuadorean leader had been "kidnapped". (Reporting by Andrew Cawthorne)
